Are you Recently Divorced? Are you Feeling Stuck in Your Life? by Ilissa Banhazl, MFT

Grab a girlfriend and go out!

The best way to get unstuck is to get involved in different things. Join a support group, take up a hobby, take a class, volunteer somewhere and find a babysitter so that you can go out with your girlfriend. The busier you are the less time your mind will be free to ruminate about your difficulties. Now, I’m not saying simply forget your troubles. I am saying that taking action gets you unstuck but do leave an hour a day to feel your feelings and think your thoughts. Try journaling in the evenings.

  • If you get involved you will find after a time that you’re not stuck anymore. You’ll feel better. We call this moving on, growing.
  • I run a support/process group in Glendora. If you are dealing with the end of a relationship or marriage this might be a helpful group for you.
  • *(We discuss other topics relevant to women in group)
  • Please call (626) 335-0903 for more info on the Women’s Support Group
  • Accepting members from La Verne, San Dimas, Glendora, Upland, Chino Hills, Rancho Cucamonga, Covina, West Covina and all other surrounding cities.
