Our Daughters Have to Worry About Wrinkles Before Age 30! What?? by Ilissa Banhazl, MFT

Perfectionism, anxiety

See any wrinkles?

Science now has the ability to help women (and men) prolong their looks from aging, We see women using Botox, fillers and lasers. As wonderful as that may seem, I am afraid we are giving our daughters more anxiety and pressure to be perfect.

Young women now search their faces daily for wrinkles. Great, society is not only telling us that we need to be thin to be beautiful but we are not supposed to have wrinkles.

I wonder if society had ignored wrinkles; if young women wouldn’t care about them either!

This is so sad. I think skin care and a good daily regiment are super important but a face should look natural, that’s what makes us individuals and gives us our beauty!

  2. Hi Ilisa, I write about the importance of maintaining youth by incorporating lifestyle, diet and aesthetic practices. I am 33 and have never done any aesthetic procedure but instead have focused on excersice, sun and oxidantion protection, healthy lifestyle and being as stressfree and happy as posible. I think this should be out main focus when discussing beauty with 20 somethings. I do also however feel its not so bad to be well informed of the aesthetic options and incorporate them when the time is right to avoid more aggressive procedures. Please check out my blog…. I hope you find it refreshing, entertaining and healthy outlook about aging gracefully. Keep healthy and the beauty will follow!
